Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Sleeper preparations have intensified as the 16-coach rake nears launch. The train will run via Prayagraj and Kanpur, with final PMO approval awaited for trials and operations by Diwali.
Final Date Approval From PMO Awaited
Despite the preparations, the rail administration and concerned departments have maintained silence over the project for now. No official announcement has been made regarding the dates as the final approval is to be given by the Prime Minister’s Office. Testing of the rake is being carried out at a rapid pace for this purpose.
Railway Board Discusses Trial and Launch Dates
Discussions on the testing and formal inauguration dates are continuing at the Railway Board. According to sources, the 16-coach modern rake is fully ready and has also received technical clearance to be put on the tracks. Once the PMO confirms the time and date, the speed and safety trial results and the schedule for regular operations will be made public together. The railway authorities want to begin operations by Diwali.
